Equipment Mechanical Engineer


 Location: Charleston, SC

A North American leader in their manufacturing niche is in search of an experienced Equipment Mechanical Engineer at their Charleston, SC plant. We are looking for a team-oriented professional with an exemplary track record of success to lead safety, the market, quality, and service through developing people, improving processes, and delivering value to the marketplace.


Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities

·        Drive and manage Safety throughout the project design and construction.

·        Lead or support the lead electrical engineer on multiple projects simultaneously from scope definition through installation and commissioning, this could include projects at different sites.

·        Engage with teammates in Operations and Maintenance to understand needs of the business throughout the Scoping, Planning, and Execution of the project.

·        Follow corporate engineering standards including helping to improve upon standards where appropriate

·        Engage teammates from engineering, production and maintenance in a collaborative environment through tools such as FMEA, TPM, FAT, RIE, as a part of the project management process.

·        Provide technical support in writing Job Safety Analysis’s (JSA’s) and Standard Work.

·        Provide technical support in setting critical spares for new equipment.

·        Generate concise and accurate reports to stakeholders.

·        Provide key ownership representation in the startup and commissioning of new equipment.


Requirements

·        Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

·        3+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment

·        Proven work experience as a Project/Manufacturing Engineer

·        Proficient in AutoCAD or similar drawing package

·        Solid organizational skills, including time-management 

·        Proficient in MS Office products

·        Familiar with TPM principals·        Ability to travel as required to support projects (10% on average but higher than that during upgrade outages)
